Lambrusco di Sorbara “PNS”

Lambrusco, reimagined. From Silvia Zucchi—third-generation winemaker working her family’s oldest vines in the Sorbara heartland north of Modena—comes a sparkling red with nothing in common with the sweet, mass-market stuff. This is 100% Lambrusco di Sorbara, hand-farmed and refermented in its own bottle in the old ancestral way, left undisgorged to rest on its lees (“in fondo”—on the bottom). The result glows from cherry red to bright rose and bursts with wildflowers and small red fruits—strawberry, raspberry—laced with a gentle yeasty note from its time sur lie. The palate is where Sorbara sings: a fresh, fruity attack snapped taut by vivid acidity, finishing dry, clean, and faintly mineral.
