Our Story

Dino Capriotti — Founder & President

It was in his family's vineyard in the medieval coastal town of Offida, in Italy's Marche region, that Dino Capriotti first fell in love with wines that speak of place. He carried that passion through a celebrated career as a restaurateur before founding Vinity Wine Company in 1999 — guided always by the belief that great wine is inseparable from the land, the people, and the culture that produce it.

Winemaker Spotlight

Tenuta La Ghiaia

Tenuta La Ghiaia is a small, organic estate winery just outside the town of Sarzana in Liguria, on the border with Tuscany's eastern coast and in the prized Colli di Luni DOC appellation. Founded in 1960's by Luciano Lotti and today, lovingly carried forward by daughter Olivia. The estate sits in a striking natural setting between the Apuan Alps and the Gulf of Poets, where maritime breezes and strong day–night temperature shifts shape a very distinctive coastal style of wine. The name says it all: ghiaia (literally 'gravel') is a nod to the ancient riverbed soils that define this remarkable terroir. We are proud to import two of their prized Vermentino: Atys, a pure crisp, citrus expression of the grape in its coastal Ligurian habitat and the more textured and complex Ithaa: bolder, more savory complexity with note of orange peel and apricot, with the still snappy mineral finish redolent of the neighboring Mediterranean sea.
