Toscana Rosso “Venti”
Venti is a word with two lives in Italian: it means both “twenty” and “winds.” Both meanings live in this bottle. Crafted to celebrate Querceto di Castellina’s 20th anniversary, Venti also honors the wind — one of the defining natural forces that sweeps across the estate’s hillside vineyards above Castellina in Chianti.
This is Jacopo Di Battista’s most ambitious wine: a single-vineyard selection of the estate’s finest Sangiovese and Merlot from the Belvedere parcel, each variety aged separately for twenty full months in French oak before spending another year settling into itself in bottle. The result is intense, dark, and decadent — blackberry, blueberry, and dark cherry laced with dried flowers, cocoa, vanilla, and a noble spice of pepper, cinnamon, and clove.
Bold yet elegant, structured yet generous, Venti is built to evolve for years to come. Produced in vanishingly small quantities and sold almost exclusively through the estate itself, this is Querceto’s rarest expression.
