Simon di Brazzan
Daniele Drius believes there are four factors that determine the quality of his wines:
- The Land expresses the intimate essence
- The Vine represents the potential quality
- The Climate brings variability
- Man passionately achieves excellence
The strong link between Man and Life has led to a selection of native grape varieties which for thousands of years in this small corner of Friuli Venezia Giulia. For four generations, Simon di Brazzan has only had one passion: trust. Daniele Drius, who inherited winery, insists he makes the wines with the same confidence that inspired his grandparents; producing a wine that creates an almost a magical experience and seduces everyone.
During the harvest, the vineyard is surrounded by unique scents and flavors. The nature of the land; composition, layout, exposure, and location have found a natural equilibrium with the succession of cultivation techniques. Vines, vintages, and methods may vary but, for Simon di Brazzan, determining the character of a wine is the task of the land. The years change, the seasons alternate, the vintages vary, but the land abides. Here, tradition does not hinder innovation and defending the authenticity of the vines does not prevent the winemaking from evolving. Through the vines one can taste the history, culture and of the people and their land.
