Burzi (IN PROGRESS)
“When I drink a glass of Barolo, I want it to taste like Barolo, like Langhe, like La Morra.” Alberto Burzi
Alberto Burzi founded his winery when he was just 26 in La Morra, at the heart of the Barolo appellation in Piedmont. Since he was a child, he’s had a passion for viticulture, which he inherited by his grandparents. In fact, his grandfather Luigi Roggero contributed his grapes to the foundation of the Terre del Barolo wine cooperative for his whole life, while his grandmother Maddalena was taking care of the management of their lands.
After the Oenology studies, when he inherited their vineyards, including the old vines from the Capalot cru, he decided to start doing his dream job, with many sacrifices, he remembers.
Today, his sister Caterina is working with him.
At the beginning, she imagined her future far away from the vineyards, but after spending a few years abroad, she realized the great fortune she had of living in Langhe.
She dedicates herself above all to customers in the cellar and to business relations abroad, but depending on the season, you could also find her in the vineyard or in the cellar.
As they always say, many years later they have finally managed to realize their grandparents’ dream of having a family winery.
